Dr. Ulrike Meyer

Dr. Ulrike Meyer, MD has practiced as a general practitioner in Dawson Creek since 1992.  Dr. Meyer received her Medical Degree from the WWU-Muenster in Germany in 1989 and upon graduation she completed her residency with the University of British Columbia.  Dr. Meyer is certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and licensed to practice in British Columbia.  Since relocating to Dawson Creek Dr. Meyer has been involved with a number of committees including the NH Maternal Infant Council, the local Continuing Medical Education Committee and Regional NCME Steering Committee in addition to her work with the MoreOB Core Team and as a NRP instructor. When not pursuing her professional interests in Family Practice, Maternity, Homeopathy and Energy Medicine Dr. Meyer can be found hiking, swimming, horse back riding, cross-country skiing or reading.

Dr. John Pawlovich

Dr. John Pawlovich, M.D. has practiced as a family physician in Fraser Lake since 1999. Dr. Pawlovich received his Medical Degree from the University of British Columbia in 1994, and then went to Chilliwack, BC to complete his Family Practice Residency. From 1996 to 1999 he travelled with his wife, Dr. Sarah Pawlovich across Canada working in communities from BC to Newfoundland and the United States. Dr. Pawlovich is certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and licensed to practice in British Columbia. In 2009 he was awarded British Columbia’s Doctor of the Year by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and Physician Leadership Award which was bestowed by the British Columbia provincial government. Chair of the Regional Steering Committee, Department Head of the Northern Interior Department of Rural Family Practice and Member of the NCME Steering Committee are some of the activities that Dr. Pawlovich is involved in when not spending time on his boat with his family fishing.

Dr. Ian Schokking

Dr. Ian Schokking, MD has practiced as a family physician in Prince George since 1994.  Dr. Schokking received his Medical Degree from the University of Toronto in 1985 then completed his Family Practice Residency at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. He was fly-in physician to Native Reserves in Sioux Lookout Ontario, at Sir Edmond Hillary’s Kunde Hospital in Nepal, and at the Aka Khan’s Singal Hospital in Pakistan before completing his MSc in Epidemiology-International Health at McGill University; Certificates in Acupuncture and Integrative Body Psychotherapy Training and Enhanced Fellowship Training in Psycho-geriatrics.  Dr. Schokking is a fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and speaks Dutch, French, Nepali and Urdu.  He has been awarded the Ernie Haynes Fellowship, CIDA Award for Canadians and the Royal Canadian Legion Gerontology Fellowship.  In addition to his work as a member of the BCMA CME Nucleus Committee and the NCME Steering Committee, he is the Prince George CME Coordinator.  His medical interests include psycho-geriatrics, sports medicine and emergency medicine and can be found playing soccer, skiing, orienteering and mountain biking with his wife and 4 children.

Dr. Michal Smialowski

Dr. Michal Smialowski, MD has practiced as a general practitioner in Smithers since 1983. Dr. Smialowski received his Medical Degree from the University of Ottawa in 1978 where he was the Silver Medalist in Medicine. Upon graduation he completed his Internship in Toronto, and then received his GP-Anesthesia training at Queen's University in Kingston. Upon moving to Smithers in 1983 Dr. Smialowski has been involved with a number of committees including the local Continuing Medical Education Committee and Regional NCME Steering Committee in addition to his work as the BC Ambulance Local Medical Coordinator for the Smithers area and District Medical Coordinator for the Cariboo Region. When not pursuing his professional interests in Anesthesia, Critical Care and CME Dr. Smialowski can be found hiking, running, and windsurfing or involved with his amateur radio interests.
